1. System of Play

The Tournament will be played under FIDE’s Laws of Chess and the Swiss system. A total of seven rounds will be played.

2. Default Time

The Default Time for arriving at the chessboard is 10 minutes. Players arriving at the board 15 minutes after the start of the game will be declared lost.

3. Time Control

The rate of play will be 30 minutes with an increment of 10 seconds per move from move number one.

  5. e. The greater number of wins (forfeit included)

6. Draw Agreement

Players will not agree to a draw without the consent of the arbiter before each player makes 20 moves.

7. Protest

Protest, if any, against the decision of the Chief Arbiter will be made in writing with a protest fee of Rs.1000/- within 30 minutes of the occurrence of the incident.

8. Appeals Committee

Before the commencement of the tournament, a five-member appeals committee will be formed by the organizers.

9. Electronic Devices

All electronic items including wristwatches (all types of watches) are not allowed in the tournament hall. If a player is found to possess a mobile (switched on/off), either on the person or in a separate bag in the tournament hall, he/she will be declared lost. Players wearing any kind of watch during the game will also be declared lost.

10. Category Prizes

Eligible for receiving category prizes who will not have reached the age of 7, 10, 13, and 17 before 01 January 2024.

  • a) Under 07: Born on or after 1st January 2017.
  • b) Under 10: Born on or after 1st January 2014.
  • c) Under 13: Born on or after 1st January 2011.
  • d) Under 17: Born on or after 1st January 2007.
  • e) Above 55: Born on or before 1st January 1969.
  • f) Above 65: Born on or before 1st January 1959.
11. No Spectator

No spectator will be allowed in the tournament hall during the round.

12. Age Proof

Each participant must produce a valid certificate to prove his/her age for category prize.

13. Miscellaneous
  • a) Any kind of disturbance or misbahaviour by any player will not be tolerated and may lead to disqualification for that particular round.
  • b) Entry fee will be refunded, if informed prior to 2 day before the event date and STRICTLY NON- REFUNDABLE after that, as arrangements according to the registration must be done by the organizer.
  • c) Players qualified for more than one prizes will be considered only for higher prize.
  • d) Withdrawals - A player may withdraw at any stage of the event, after informing the chief arbiter in writing.
